If a RF Vision battery unit is, left uncharged for long periods of time, or battery is completely drained the unit will go into deep discharge mode and appear that it is defective or not charging.

Viavi recommends that the RF Vision battery be plugged in to the charger, press and observe the power button LED to see the charge state. It can be in one of three modes:

• Solid green and flashes rapidly when pressed (This confirms deep discharge/trickle charge),
• Flashing on its own (normal charge)
• Solid green with no flashing when pressed (fully charged, ready to use).

If the unit is in deep discharge mode, Viavi recommends keeping the instrument plugged in until the light is solid green with no flashing; this indicates the unit is fully charged and ready to use. Please note RFV-2000 may take 2 to 3 days with an over discharged battery to get to a point where itll start to charge until the battery is fully charged again. If the LED has different behavior or does not come on at all when plugged in, please use the RGA form to request the unit be sent in for testing.
