Position: Accounting Manager -
Santa Fe Springs

The Accounting Manager will report directly to the CFO and work closely with other managers of Talley Inc. They will be responsible for preparing interim detailed financial statements and overseeing all General Ledger and Accounts Payable activities. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining corporate level internal control procedures to ensure adequate accounting procedures and services while maintaining compliance with GAAP.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise AP Supervisor
    • Initiate weekly wire, ACH payments and approval of monthly AMEX payment, upload and verification of check Positive Pay
    • Review of processes and actions to confirm coded to proper location, amount is correct, bills are accurate. Set processes and procedures to ensure deadlines are met.
    • Train staff as needed. Identify backups for each position. Ensure desk procedures are written and updated.
  • Supervise Staff Accountant:
    • Ensure Staff Accountant's Month-End Close Responsibilities are met
      • Monthly Bank Reconciliation
      • Prepaid Expense Journal
      • Fixed Assets and Depreciation
      • Associated Account Reconciliations
      • Account Analysis - Review AP monthly distribution register for possible reclassifications and/or information to assist with schedules and other accruals
      • Billing – entries/copies to analyze training classes
      • Billing – month end postage balance
      • HR – monthly temp labor summary report to assist with confirming all invoices have been entered. Accrue any invoices not entered.
      • Reconcile Inventory to the General Ledger quarterly
      • Backup to preparation of Positive Pay upload
    • Supervise Property Tax calculation and filing done by Staff Accountant
  • Individual Close Responsibilities:
    • Provide accurate month-end Financials with supporting analysis to management within ten (10) working business days
    • Coordinate and work with other departments for month-end reporting by issuing Close Calendar to all
    • Coordinate payroll from Payroll Manager and support any necessary payroll-related journal entries (HSA, workers comp and reclassify labor to proper locations)
    • Accrued Expenses
    • Confirm all manual checks are entered
    • Prepare and enter all other journal entries
    • Review entries by Others
    • Detail expense analysis including all analysis required for accurate financials
    • Reconcile remaining BS accounts
    • Change closing period to "P" to only allow AP entries. Open next month period by changing period to "Y"
  • Tracking contract payments
    • Talley site leases - receive and file Lease contracts, create summary of key variables for each site, approve lease payments and increases for AP to pay
    • Talley equipment leases or maintenance agreements - receive and file Equipment Lease and/or Maintenance contracts, create summary of key variables for each contract, approve lease payments and increases for AP to pay
    • Track activity and create backup JE by supervisor for Computer purchases/moves
  • Create policy & procedures for Accounting Staff and review with CAO/VP Finance
  • Manage all employee requirements and issues (e.g., JPE's, PIP's, attendance issues, etc.)
  • Additional Responsibilities as required
Knowledge, Skill, Education and Experience Required:
  • 5 Years of experience in various Accounting roles with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent business experience
  • Advanced certification or degree preferred (CPA or MBA or CMA)
  • Experience with large ($100MM+) family-owned business preferred

Position: Computer Support Specialist -
Santa Fe Springs

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides technical assistance to the daily performance of computer systems, troubleshoot and repair computer, printers and phones as needed
  • Setup computer systems, peripherals and accessories for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of operating systems, and appropriate software and hardware
  • Support Company's ERP (Prelude) System, running on Unix/Linux
  • Maintain Point of Sales and Stock Status Reports
  • Assist in supporting Telephone systems (PBX) and the handsets
  • Maintain nightly backup tape schedule for servers
  • Configure and support companywide scanners & barcode equipment
  • Maintain and Support shipping departments utilizing UPS, FedEx, PSS and other shipping software and hardware
  • Maintain record of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken, and installation activities.
  • Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
  • Develop training materials and procedures
  • Train users in the proper use of hardware and software, as required
  • Train employees in Prelude ERP system as required
  • Work the Help Desk (Customers and also internal Customers)
  • Travel may be required
Knowledge, Skill, Education and Experience Required:
  • Minimum four years college degree in Information Technology preferred, but not required or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum Experience required: 2 – 5 years' work experience
  • Networking Experience (local area, Wide Area, VPN and Firewall)
  • Hardware Experience: Laptops, printers, scanners, landline phones, cellular phones, include smart phones, Mac and PC's and Servers
  • Ability to program, deploy and troubleshoot wireless devices: such as hand held inventory scanners, WiFi access points and laptops
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair MS Windows OS and virus/spyware issues.
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux.
  • Familiarity with UPS and FedEx shipping software

Position: Sales Coordinator -
Santa Fe Springs - Atlanta

Position: Outside Sales -
North East Region - Dallas - Phoenix

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and execute a field sales call / call-out strategy to service accounts, mine existing customers for referral business and identify new business leads.
  • Submit an annual Business Plan to the Territory Director to review and track quarterly.
  • Build national account and key account revenue across territories.
  • Utilize Sales Order Entry Guidelines to process Quotes and Purchase Orders.
  • Enter Quality Feedback Entries
  • Develop new business revenue by utilizing Maximizing Selling Opportunities field sales call/call out best practices.
  • Provide Queue Support when working in the office.
  • Participate in company sponsored events as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill, Education and Experience Required:
  • Minimum high school education required
  • Bachelor Degree preferred
