JPS

The ACU-2000 IP offers a full suite of network capabilitiesincluding linking of radios over an IP network, control of largeinteroperability systems via IP, remote channel change over IP, andthe ability to interface radios via SIP. The ACU-2000 IP builds onthe industry standard ACU-1000's ability to link disparatecommunications systems. These systems can be linked, monitored andcontrolled over an IP network, and the SIP capabilities allowSIP-based systems or individual SIP endpoints (such as SIP phones orsoftphones) to be included in the conferences. Like the ACU-1000, theACU-2000 IP is modular, completely scalable, and field configurableto meet the customer needs.

The MCC-4 Multi-Channel Console provides dispatch capabilities tothe browser-based ACU-Z1 and Z2 Controller wide-area systems with upto four channels of transmit and receive audio. As it has the JPSBridge protocol embedded, it can connect directly into these systemsor to individual RSP-Z2s across an IP network; no local gateway isrequired.

On the ACU-Z1 and Z2 Controller, the Dispatch section of the userinterface provides system operators the ability to both listen to andcommunicate with select resources. Additional microphone channels mayalso be bridged to other resources by placing them in a shared Net.Audio shared between resources within the same Net is isolated fromthe dispatch functionality - the Dispatcher will not hear bridgedresources and they will not hear the Dispatcher.

The SNV-12 uses Digital Signal Processors to continuously monitormultiple remote receiver sites and select the receiver with the bestsignal quality. A typical application is an LMR system in whichmobiles and portables can hear a repeater, but due to their lowertransmit power and/or the antenna size or placement, the repeatercan't hear these mobiles and portables.

Remote receivers can be positioned in the communications deadspots, with audio from each receiver linked to the voter viamicrowave, landline, twisted pair, RF link, or fiber optics. Thevoter will select the best quality signal from all unsquelched remotereceivers and forward this signal to the repeater for rebroadcast ormonitor by a dispatcher, thus providing greater talk back range forthe radios.

The Z2 Controller embodies that experience, and creates a capablewide area interoperability system, tying together the wide range ofvarious voice communications devices interfaced to it remotely viadual channel RSP-Z2s and other means.
